Jim Demarest, PhD, has 30 years of biomedical research experience; 22 of those in the pharmaceutical industry.  He has led a variety of efforts in discovery, early/late clinical development, and life cycle management for novel antivirals, immune-based therapies and vaccines for the treatment of infectious diseases, with a particular focus on HIV-1 infection. Jim earned his PhD from the George Washington University while conducting research in Dr Anthony Fauci’s laboratory at the NIH/NIAID and then completed a post-doctoral research fellowship at Duke University, where he still holds an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Immunology.
