Barbara L. Powers, MSN, PhD, is Vice President, Clinical Operations of Clear Creek Bio, joining the company in August of 2017. Dr. Powers is also President of Expedite Research, a pharmaceutical and medical device consulting company she founded in 2013. Prior to Expedite Research, Dr. Powers was Vice President, Clinical Development of Cytokine PharmaSciences, a privately held, global biopharmaceutical company developing controlled-release drug delivery products in women’s health and small molecule therapeutics in the areas of autoimmune diseases, anti-inflammation and cancer. Barbara also led the clinical team at Neuron Therapeutics, a start-up company focused on developing a novel drug/device combination product for treating ischemic stroke and subarachnoid hemorrhage. Dr. Powers also worked for Rhône-Poulenc Rorer (now Sanofi Aventis) for 14 years where she was Associate Director of Clinical Operations and Worldwide Resource Allocation. Her clinical experience of 10 years working in Labor & Delivery taught her how to prioritize and stay calm in a crisis.

Dr. Powers grew up in southeastern Pennsylvania and earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Delaware, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing earned from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Powers holds a Ph.D. degree from Temple University.
